Why counterions show up
Many research peptides are isolated as salts. Acetate and trifluoroacetate (TFA) appear often because of how peptides are cleaved, purified, and finished. The counterion is not a trivia detail. If mass is reported on a salt basis, part of what you weigh is not peptide backbone.

- Read whether content is peptide content or total solid / salt-form mass.
- Note the stated counterion for the lot.
- Check whether residual moisture appears on the document set.
